If your child has complex medical needs, they may qualify for comprehensive medical daycare at Elite PPEC at no cost to your family. Let us help you find out.

Eligibility

Qualifying Conditions for PPEC Services

Children with a wide range of medically complex conditions may qualify for PPEC services. A child does not need to have every condition listed below; a single qualifying diagnosis combined with a physician's prescription is typically sufficient to begin the enrollment process. The following conditions are among the most common diagnoses we serve at Elite PPEC:

  • Cerebral palsy
  • Seizure disorders and epilepsy
  • Down syndrome
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Tracheostomy or ventilator dependence
  • Feeding tube dependence (G-tube, NG-tube)
  • Respiratory conditions (BPD, chronic lung disease)
  • Congenital heart defects
  • Spina bifida
  • Muscular dystrophy
  • Developmental delays (global or specific)
  • Genetic and chromosomal abnormalities
  • Brain injuries and neurological disorders
  • Prematurity complications
  • Other medically complex conditions

This list is not exhaustive. If your child has a medical condition that requires ongoing nursing care, monitoring, or therapeutic intervention, they may qualify even if their diagnosis is not listed above. We encourage you to contact us to discuss your child's specific situation.

Age Requirements

Elite PPEC serves children from birth through age 20. Whether your child is an infant, toddler, school-age, or teenager, our programs are designed to meet children at their developmental level and support them as they grow. Our staff is trained to care for children of all ages, and our facility includes age-appropriate spaces, equipment, and activities.

There is no minimum age requirement. Infants who are medically fragile can begin receiving PPEC services as soon as they are discharged from the hospital, provided they have a physician's prescription and active Medicaid coverage.

Florida Medicaid Coverage

PPEC services are a covered benefit under Florida Medicaid. To attend Elite PPEC, your child must have active Florida Medicaid coverage. All services, including nursing care, therapies, meals, and transportation, are fully covered with no out-of-pocket costs to families.

If your child does not currently have Medicaid, you can apply through the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) at myflfamilies.com. Children with complex medical needs often qualify regardless of household income. Our enrollment team can help guide you through the Medicaid application process.

What is a PPEC?

A PPEC (Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care) is a Florida-licensed medical daycare center designed specifically for children with complex medical needs. PPECs provide skilled nursing care, therapy services, developmental programs, meals, and transportation during daytime hours. All services are prescribed by a physician and covered 100% by Florida Medicaid.

Is PPEC really free for families?

Yes. All PPEC services at Elite PPEC are 100% covered by Florida Medicaid. There are no copays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs for qualifying families. This includes nursing care, all therapies, meals, and door-to-door transportation.

What documents do I need to enroll my child?

You will need your child's Florida Medicaid card, a physician's prescription for PPEC services, recent medical records and diagnosis documentation, immunization records, a current medication list, and any relevant specialist reports. Our enrollment coordinator will provide a complete checklist and help you gather everything.

How long can my child attend a PPEC?

Children can attend Elite PPEC from birth through age 20, as long as they continue to meet medical eligibility requirements and have an active physician's prescription. Many children attend for several years, and we are honored to be part of their growth and development journey.

Do you provide transportation?

Yes. Elite PPEC provides free door-to-door transportation in specially equipped vehicles. Our vehicles accommodate wheelchairs, medical equipment, and car seats. Transportation is available throughout Hollywood and the surrounding Broward County communities we serve.

What are the hours of operation?

Elite PPEC is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Families can choose a schedule that works for them within these hours. We understand that every family's needs are different, and we offer flexible scheduling options.

Can my child attend school and PPEC?

In many cases, yes. Some children attend school for part of the day and come to Elite PPEC before or after school hours. We work with families and school districts to coordinate schedules that serve the child's best interests. Our team can help you determine the best arrangement for your child.
